Homegrown leadership

Four decades in Inglewood.
A lifetime of service.

“Public service starts with listening—and it succeeds when neighbors see results.”— Councilman Padilla

Alex Padilla has called Inglewood home for more than 40 years. He and his wife, Stella, raised their three children here and are now proud grandparents.

Alex brings decades of public-safety leadership to City Hall. His career includes 30 years with the Santa Monica Police Department, where he retired as a Captain, and service as a Special Investigator with the Los Angeles Police Commission's Office of the Inspector General.

Alex earned a bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of Redlands. He remains deeply engaged in the community through the Inglewood Rotary Club, City of Champions Lions Club, One-for-All, the Salvation Army, and the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.

02 / Priorities

Focused on what
moves us forward.

A practical agenda for safer blocks, stronger families, and opportunity that reaches every neighborhood.

01

Public Safety

Continue to advocate for common-sense initiatives that strengthen collaboration between law enforcement, neighborhood watch groups, and business associations to build mutual trust, address safety concerns, and improve real-time communication.

02

Unhoused Individuals

Partner with public works and community outreach teams to coordinate 24/48-hour notices for site cleanups while connecting those in need with emergency shelter and social services.

03

Senior & Youth Services

Provide the programs our seniors and youth deserve, including computer training, mental and physical health screening, and job training programs.

04

Quality Education

Quality education is not a privilege; it is a right. Collaborate with our school district to ensure the educational needs and safety of our children are provided.

05

Economic Development

Advocate for responsible economic development that supports local businesses and creates more local job opportunities.
